Our Story

Seth is proud to carry on the legacy of Tradewinds Bamboo Nursery, purchased from founders Gib and Diane Cooper after nearly a decade of working alongside them. Their deep appreciation for bamboo — one of the world’s most remarkable and versatile plants — has grown steadily through years of hands-on experience. Now relocated to the beautiful Oregon Coast, they are honored to continue offering a diverse collection of species, sharing their passion, and helping others discover just how extraordinary bamboo can be.

We are a proud bamboo family!

Now nestled on the Southern Oregon Coast, Seth is excited to deepen his connection to bamboo in a region uniquely suited to its cultivation. Sharing a latitude with many bamboo-rich countries in Asia, this area offers a mild, coastal climate that mirrors the natural environments where bamboo flourishes — from the mountains of China and Japan to tropical zones in Southeast Asia. It’s an ideal place to grow a diverse range of species, and the nursery continues to showcase selections not only from Asia, but also from Mexico, Nicaragua, and parts of Africa.

This move represents more than a change of scenery — it’s a dream realized. Surrounded by wild beauty and supported by a welcoming coastal community, Seth and his family are thrilled to grow, experiment, and share their passion for bamboo with others. They look forward to helping customers across the country discover the elegance, resilience, and remarkable diversity of this extraordinary plant.
